Sadie Sink, best known for her breakout role as Max Mayfield in Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things, has officially joined the cast of the highly anticipated fourth installment in the Spider-Man film franchise. While details about Sink’s character remain under wraps, industry insiders suggest that her role will be a “significant” one.

According to Deadline, one prevalent theory is that Sink may be introduced as Jean Grey, a pivotal character in the X-Men comics. However, no official confirmation regarding her character has been made.

The storyline for Spider-Man 4 is being kept tightly under wraps, but the film will likely explore the aftermath of the dramatic events in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The previous installment concluded with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) making the heartbreaking decision to allow Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) to cast a spell that erased his identity from the memories of everyone he loved—including MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon). The next film is expected to delve into the consequences of this spell and how Peter navigates a world in which he is completely forgotten.

Destin Daniel Cretton, known for directing Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, will take over directing duties from Jon Watts, who successfully helmed the previous three Spider-Man films starring Holland.

Filming for Spider-Man 4 is set to begin later in 2025, with a theatrical release scheduled for July 31, 2026.
