The Mi MIX FOLD boasts the largest foldable display on any smartphone to date, with a large 8.01” WQHD+ resolution flexible internal display and a 6.52” external display. The phone features a quad-speaker setup, a 5,020mAh battery, and 67W turbocharging support.
The inner screen of the Mi MIX FOLD is an 8.01-inch 4:3 OLED panel has a resolution of 2480 x 1860 and a standard display brightness of 600 nits. It supports Dolby Vision HDR. Xiaomi claims that the display can withstand being folded 200,000 times. The outer screen measures 6.52-inches and has a refresh rate of 90Hz.
Xiaomi is making bold statements about the audio capabilities of the new Mix. The phone features four Harman Kardon-tuned speakers and what the company calls 3D panoramic sound. The company claims that the combination of Dolby Vision and a quad-speaker 3D panoramic sound system makes Mi MIX FOLD perfect for viewing content. According to Xiaomi, the Mi MIX FOLD also provides a truly innovative smartphone game experience.
The new Mix features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The phone has a built-in 5,020mAh battery. It is the largest battery capacity among most foldable phones currently available for sale. It employs Xiaomi's proprietary new dual-battery parallel architecture, which includes two batteries. According to Xiaomi, the 67W fast-charging system can provide a complete charge in 37 minutes.
The Mi MIX FOLD is the first phone to feature a camera with liquid lens technology. According to Xiaomi, thanks to this new technology it is possible to use a telephoto lens with a near focusing distance of 3cm and optical zoom of 3x or 30x hybrid zoom. The latest Mix has a 108MP pixel primary camera and a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123° field of view.
The Mi MIX FOLD is available in two versions: standard and ceramic special edition. The phone is now available for preorder in China, and it will ship on April 16th. The price for the Mi MIX FOLD starts at 9,999 yuan (around $1,521 or £1,109) for the standard model and goes all the way up to 12,999 yuan (around $1,978 or £1,442) for the ceramic special edition. There’s no word yet on when the phone will be released outside of China.
