Cast Announced for Obi-Wan Kenobi series

Disney+ confirmed its cast for the new Star Wars series - Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Ewan McGregor reprises his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Darth Vader will be played again by Hayden Christensen. Joel Edgerton and Bonnie Piesse are reprising their roles as Luke Skywalker's young Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie have also joined the cast.

Deborah Chow, who directed two critically acclaimed episodes of The Mandalorian, will direct Obi-Wan Kenobi. The series will pick up ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Kenobi faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker turned evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

LucasFilm announced on Monday that production on the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series will begin in April.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of many Star Wars series in the works at Disney+. Other projects include The Book of Boba Fett, a Rogue One prequel focused on Cassian Andor, Rangers of the New Republic, and an Ahsoka Tano Mandalorian spinoff.

The release date of the highly anticipated series on Disney+ is unknown.
