Olivia Colman Joins Marvel's Secret Invasion Series

Oscar nominee Olivia Colman is in talks to join Samuel L. Jackson in Marvel's upcoming Secret Invasion Series.

According to THR, Olivia Colman is still in negotiations for the role. The identity of Colman's character is being kept under wraps.

Colman won an Oscar for her performance in The Favourite, in which she co-starred with Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. The award-winning actress is fresh off her final season of Netflix's The Crown, in which she played Queen Elizabeth. Colman’s previous TV credits include Fleabag, Broadchurch and The Night Manager.

The plot details are being kept under wraps, but the Skrulls will play an important role. Samuel L. Jackson is reprising his role as secret agent Nick Fury. Ben Mendelsohn is also returning as Talos, a shapeshifter from the alien race known as the Skrulls. The cast also includes Kingsley Ben-Adir as the possible villain.

Kyle Bradstreet, best known for the cyber-thriller series Mr. Robot, is writing and executive producing Secret Invasion. The series is set to start production in the fall in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is set to conclude on Friday. The next series that takes place in the MCU to debut is Tom Hiddleston-led Loki in June. Other projects currently in development include What If?, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Amor Wars and Ironheart.
